Becoming a Broker

The Vermont Real Estate Commission requires all individuals interested in becoming a real estate broker in the state of Vermont to have two (2) years experience as a licensed salesperson and eight (8) closed transactions. A 40-Hour Broker Pre-Licensing course must also be successfully completed before taking the exam.

Register for the 40-Hour Broker Pre-Licensing course. Visit VAR's education page for a class schedule. Currently, VAR offers the Broker Pre-Licensing course once each year.

Register for the exam at www.psiexams.com, or download the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin.


Submit your broker's license application, course completion certificate, and passing test scores to the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation.
