Q. What do I need to become a Vermont salesperson?                                                           

A. You will need:
  • 40-hours pre-licensing course
  • National and State exam
  • To be affiliated with a Vermont licensed broker/office

Q. What if I already have a license in another state, do I still need to take the 40 hour pre-licensing course?
A. If you are applying for licensure by endorsement (have and active license in another state) then you may not need to take the 40 hour pre-licensing course.

If you hold a license in Massachusetts or Rhode Island, you will need to take the 40 hour pre-licensing course.

Q. Where do I get information regarding the examination?
A. You will need to contact PSI for your exam registration and questions regarding your exam.

Q. What if I already have a license in another state, do I still need to take the National exam?
A. If you are applying for licensure by endorsement (have an active license in another state) then you may not need to take the National exam. If you hold a license in any of the following states you will need to take both the National and State exam because that state is not equivalent to Vermont.

Q. What if I already have a license in another state, do I still need to take the state exam?
A. All applicants must take the state exam. There are no exceptions.

Q. Do I have to have a principal broker and hang my license in an office?
A. Yes you must be affiliated with a principal broker and registered office.

Q. If I am licensed in more than one state do I need to send in Verification from all that states.
A. Yes you will need to send in Verification from every state you have or have ever held a license in.

Q. If I have been disciplined do I need to send in the documentation regarding this?
A. Yes we will need all court documents including information on completion of all disciplinary matters.

Q. How long does it take to process my application?
A. Processing time is 5 to 7 working days.
